ROQUETAS WAS BORN OF THE SEA
A sea that gives it its name and that has never left it since its inception. It offers great leisure and cultural attractions to visitors who choose us as an ideal holiday and rest area.
Undoubtedly, the sea and the beaches are the most popular attractions. Roquetas de Mar has 15 km of coastline, which are 15 real kilometers of beaches (except the Port of Aguadulce and the Port of Roquetas de Mar). From Aguadulce to Roquetas de Mar you can enjoy urban beaches, with all accessibility services, boardwalk, showers, toilets, etc., and pristine beaches, such as Cerrillos in Punta Entinas Sabinar or Ventilla.
If you visit us, you should go to our natural areas, led by the Natural Park “Punta Entinas – Sabinar”, the only biosphere reserve in the province, which organizes hiking and cycling routes. And if you like diving, you cannot miss the Oceanic Posidonia barrier, an authentic forest under the sea.
From our monumental history, Santa Ana’s Castle and the Lighthouse stand out, used as centres of cultural exhibitions and events of the public life of the city. Cerrillos Tower (located in the Natural Park of Punta Entinas – Sabinar) and the remains of Turaniana are also considered outstanding attractions. Unfortunately, the remains, which range from the end of the Bronze Age to the Muslim period, cannot be visited yet.
Furthermore, you can enjoy activities during your holiday days: golf, water park, aquarium, bulls, water sports, hiking, relax, culture, concerts, theatre…
Do not hesitate, Roquetas de Mar, the sea you dream about.
